Piódão is in the middle of Portugal and is one of Portugal’s “Historic Villages” due to its well-preserved traditional architecture, predominantly built with schist stone. It’s also one of the most beautiful villages in Portugal. It’s a picturesque village I didn’t want to miss while visiting Portugal.

It was raining when I arrived.

I managed to explore the village briefly amidst the downpour.

As the rain grew heavier, I had to cut the visit short and finish it in a hurry.

Despite the rain, the village was very charming. I only wished I were able to wander the streets at a more leisurely pace in better weather.
