This is also called the Frontline trail and is a point to point hike from the peak of Lagazuoi down to Passo Falzarego. When I was planning for this trip, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do this hike. In the end I decided to do it since it was mostly a downhill hike so it should be pretty easy.

Boy was I wrong!

From Passo Falzarego, I took the cable car to Lagazuoi and enjoyed the view on the ride up.

The view from the Lagazuoi Station was just as amazing.

From the station there was still a little climbing to do to reach the peak.

Going down.

There was even a short path for people with disabilities to enjoy the view.

Now comes the fun part. The entire trail down was very steep and slippery as it was either covered with snow or was on loose gravel (as much as 52% grade at certain sections). Part of the trail was also wet from the melting snow and muddy.

Towards the end of the hike it was finally snow free. But it wasn’t getting any easier. The loose gravel was just as slippery. I actually slipped and fell once even though I tried to walk on the grass as much as I could.

It took me almost two hours to finish this short hike. It was such a relief to be able to finally finish it 😂.
