I arrived in Salt Lake City a little before noon. The original plan was to take public transportation to Sandy to pick up my rental car (a lot cheaper than renting at the airport) but I thought better of it and took Uber instead.
After I picked up my car, I searched for Silver Lake Trail on Google Map and followed the directions there. When I had about three miles left, it turned into a dirt road. I never liked dirt roads and wasn’t expecting it. So I double checked and found out that was the wrong trail!
I started hiking as soon as I got to the right trail to try to make up the one hour wasted.
But it didn’t feel right once I completed the loop. The hike was supposed to be 4.7 miles but the loop I just finished was less than one mile. I checked again. It turned out this was Silver Lake Loop Trail, not Silver Lake Trail. I assumed it was the same trail when I checked earlier. But I was actually heading to the right trail at first!
Even though this was not the trail I initially planned for, it was still a beautiful hike.
