After Kinderdijk, we headed to Rotterdam.
Parking in Rotterdam was hard to find and expensive. So we tried to check in at our apartment first so we could leave our car. Since the check in procedure was not clear, it took us a while to find our apartment and got in touch with our host.
As with many properties in Netherlands, our apartment was surrounded by water.
Once we were checked in, we went out exploring on foot.
Rotterdam is such a beautiful and modern city.
Even the bus/tram station is beautiful.
Rotterdam is known for its innovative architecture. I loved this pencil shaped building.
Markthal (Market Hall) is another architectural landmark.
The interior ceiling of Markthal is adorned with a mural of vibrant fruits, vegetables, insects, and flowers.
Markthal at night is even more stunning.
One of the most iconic buildings in Rotterdam is the Cube Houses.
These houses are actually residential units with unique interior layouts. One of them is open to the public as a museum so we were able to see what it was like inside.
Even though we were not able to spend a lot of time in Rotterdam, I was already captivated by its iconic architecture and modern charm by the end of the day.
