Two Days In Fiji

Our flight to New Zealand included a free stopover in Fiji. So we took advantage of it and spent two days in Fiji.

Day 1 (11/11/2019)

We arrived in Nadi early in the morning. I booked an airport transfer from Viator but wasn’t able to find our driver. But everyone at the airport was super friendly and went out of the way to help us find him. I instantly fell in love with Fiji and the people here.

It was raining when we got to our hotel at Sheraton Fiji Resort.

Fortunately, the rain stopped shortly after and there was a beautiful full rainbow across the ocean.

As soon as the sky cleared, we walked along the beach to check out some of the resorts nearby.

Lots of frogs, some right outside our hotel room.

Lots of crabs along the beach too.

Back to our hotel.

There are about 330 islands in Fiji. We joined a local tour and took a day trip to Malolo Island today.

We explored the island on foot.

The water was so clear we could see fish swimming near the beach.

Before heading back to the main island, we had lunch here.

Dessert but I couldn’t tell what it was. It was delicious though.

Sunset was beautiful when we were back to Nadi.

Day 2 (11/12/2019)

It was another hot (around 86F) and humid day. So the only things I had planned for today was to try some local seafood.

We went to downtown Dadi had lunch at Sentai Seafood Restaurant.

Sizzling Beef:

Boiled Amaranth Leaves:

Combination Fried Rice Noodles:

Coconut Crab with Ginger & Scallion:

Steamed Egg with Coconut Crab Paste:

We enjoyed a fire show that included dancing in the afternoon.

After that, we dined at Bonefish Seafood Restaurant and ordered a 800g lobster seafood platter.

Lobster meat was prepared with chili tomato basil.

It was a very relaxing two days in Fiji and we were ready for our trip to New Zealand next morning.
