It was a lot cheaper to fly to Manchester than to London. So now I had an excuse to visit Manchester.
The flight was delayed (30 mins) as usual. It was almost 7 pm when we touched down. After going through passport control and finally got on the train to Manchester Piccadilly and checked in at my hotel, it was already around 8:35 pm.
I still had two more hours of day light. So I walked to the Chips Building.
It’s a residential apartment building with an interesting architectural design.
I then walked back to my hotel along the Ashton Canal.
I was up early the next morning and took the tram to MediaCityUK and the Quays for a leisure walk to see the modern side of Manchester.
On the way back I stopped by Shambles Square.
And Chinatown.
My last stop was Gay Village.
Back to the train station and took the 11:46 am train and headed south.
