Cadini di Misurina is a viewpoint among the jagged peaks near Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The hike from Rifugio Auronzo to the viewpoint is short but steep. The views throughout the hike are incredible every step of the way.
I found the trailhead at the southeast corner of Rifugio Auronzo, just steps away from the trailhead for the Tre Cime di Lavaredo hike.
At the beginning of the hike, It shared the same stunning views as the Tre Cime di Lavaredo hike.
After a quick and short but steep descent followed by a longer ascend back up the other side of the ridgeline, the trail split at the top. Seeing the trail on the left continued to climb up and the one on the right leveled out, I chose the right one assuming it would be easier (I took the left one on the way back). This trail followed the ridgeline and was actually a bit scary for someone afraid of heights like me.
But the view from the trail was great. I just wasn’t able to fully enjoy it as I was focusing on getting through this part of the trail safely.
The backside of Tre Cime di Lavaredo could be seen from the trail.
At the end of the ridgeline, the trail started climbing up again and split at the top, each lead to a separate viewpoint. I took the right one first.
The second viewpoint, which is the Cadini di Misurina, could be seen from the top.
After spending some time enjoying the views from the first viewpoint, I headed to the Cadini di Misurina.
The path to Cadini di Misurina viewpoint was very thin. A few people were waiting in line at the beginning of this path. I joined the line assuming we were supposed to take turns going up. Most groups spent a few minutes there. But a young couple stayed much longer with drones taking pictures/videos for a long time and kept everyone waiting. Overall I spent almost half an hour here just waiting in line.
It was finally my turn to go up.

I didn’t stay long as I knew people had been waiting for a long time.
On my way back, I took the left trail when it first split on the way up. This trail runs on top of a cliff with a few twists and turns but seemed much safer and the views were even more amazing.
At last, more climbing back up to the trail head.
