There are a few lakes in Cortina d’Ampezzo area that are not huge tourist attractions but still worth visiting. I visited three of them today in addition to the other well known lakes I also visited.
Lago di Dobbiaco
This lake is very close to the main road and it was just a short drive down to the free parking lot near a restaurant. There were a lot of wildflowers and walking around the lake only took me 40 minutes. This is a beautiful lake and one of my favorites.

Dürrensee (Lago di Landro)
This lake is right next to the road. I did plan to walk around the lake on the first day but wasn’t able to because of the flight delay. Instead, I did a quick stop after visiting Lake Dobbiaco today.

Lago Ghedina
This is a lesser known lake. It is a little off the main road. I thought it was a quick stop as driving directions from Google Map directed me to the lake. I even checked Google Map Street View before I left for the trip and saw a small parking lot there. But the road was closed when I got there. So the only option left was to hike to the lake. The trail was a steady uphill climb and it was relatively mild. It took less than an hour for the 2.74-mile round trip hike including walking around the small lake.
