My first serious hike in the Dolomites.
There are plenty of free parking spaces along the road but most of them were taken. I had to drive further down the road to find a parking space but it wasn’t too difficult.
The trail immediately started with steady inline.

Amazing views.

I reached the lake after about 2.5 miles.

As usual, I walked around the lake although it wasn’t part of the official trail. I just couldn’t resist.

After leaving the lake, the trail continued its incline.

The views were getting better and better as I climbed higher.

After finally reaching the top, I thought going downhill would be easy, until I came to this steep rocky snowy section. There was no clearly defined trail as part of it might be covered by snow. So route finding was combined with scrambling and trying to avoid the slippery snow and stream from melting snow.

It seemed to take forever. I finally was able to leave the rocky section behind me. But the rest of the trail was still not easy as it was mostly loose gravel and very slippery on the way down.

I eventually made it back to the trailhead in five hours.
