After visiting Keukenhof in the morning, I drove to STRAAT Museum area to check out a couple of sites. Parking was very difficult to find. I managed to park somewhere that wasn’t even a legal parking space but did it anyway since there was another car parked there.
I didn’t stay long just in case. After quickly visited the sites, I drove to my hotel near the airport and checked in and stayed for a couple of hours before returning the rental car at the airport. I’d spend the rest of the day in city center and it was better to use public transportation.
From the airport I took a train to Oma letje. There are some very colorful buildings in the area which I’d love to check out. Anything with color always makes me happy.
I then took another train to Amsterdam Centraal. It was a short walk from there to the main route at the center of Amsterdam Damrak.
From there I continued with my walking tour to De 9 Straatjes, Halvemaansbrug, and some other popular sites.
This was my second visit to Amsterdam. So it wasn’t that important to me to visit all tourist sites. I thought about staying until after dark to visit De Wallen again. But I was tired (was up since 2 am) and I had already visited De Wallen before and nothing really interested me there. So I decided to go back to my hotel which took another train ride back to the airport, followed by a bus ride.
