I arrived in London very late last night. By the time I checked in at the hotel near Hyde Park, it was already after 11pm.
But there was so much to do today. I set out as soon as I was able to.
I went to Merchant Square to see Rolling Bridge. It was supposed to be rolled up at noon today (every Wednesday and Friday at noon) according to its official website. But I waited a while even after 12pm and nothing happened. It was a little disappointing.
Fortunately I was able to see the Fan Bridge nearby in action. It was named after its five steel beams that open and close like a fan to allow boats to pass through.
Then I headed to the Graffiti Tunnel.
After that, a trip to one of my favorite museums, Tate Modern.
I love contemporary art because it’s so hard to understand 😂.
I still remember this piece from my last visit a few years ago. It’s a tower of old radios that simultaneously playing together and makes a lot of noise 😂.
This sculpture below was pretty impressive.
But if you look closer, it was made of a bunch of mini-blinds.
I also stopped by Leadenhall Market which was used in two Harry Potter films
And the colorful Neal’s Yard.
Covent Garden was just around the corner.
On Belgrove Street across from St Pancras International when I was heading back, there was another colorful building.
Back to hotel. Took a walk around Princess Diana Memorial Garden.
And a relaxing walk through Hyde Park.
