Aiguille du Midi is a 3,842m (12,605 ft) tall mountain in the Mont Blanc massif near Chamonix. Due to limited time, I debated if I wanted to visit the summit when I was planning for the trip. I planned to another hike in the morning but changed my mind in the end. Since now I had a little time before my scheduled bus ride back to Geneva, I decided to take the cable car to the top of Aiguille du Midi for a quick visit.
It was a long ride that took about 20 minutes to reach the top. But the view was awesome.

Once at the summit, I walked around the observatory terrace to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views.

Pretty much everyone was carrying some kind of snow/mountaineering gear. There were lots of activities you could do from the summit, which was what most people came up here to do.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t geared up. Not only that. I forgot it would be much colder at this elevation and was only wearing a T-shirt. It was around 4°C and windy. I was freezing and shivering the whole time I was there. So I soon decided it was time to leave. Without proper gear, there wasn’t much I could do anyway.
The view on the way down was stunning as well.
