I hiked the entire trail in sandals because I had to throw away my ripped hiking shoes yesterday.
The beginning of the trail followed along Big Cottonwood Creek.
Soon the climbing started.
Before long the snow-capped mountains came into view.
Some sections of the trail was a little hard to navigate in sandals.
More views of the snow-capped mountains.
Traversing through these rocks was fun.
A lot of snow at the end of the trail.
The views of the lake with snow-capped mountains in the background and their reflections were simply breathtaking.
Time to head back.
The ice was very slippery, especially when you were going downhill in sandals. It took me a long time here trying not to fall.
This was probably one of the best hikes on this trip.
