I heard about Moses Bridge a while back and wanted to see it in person.
In the biblical story, “Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.”
Moses Bridge was named after that because it gives the illusion of an “invisible” bridge splitting the water.
It is a pedestrian bridge in Fort De Roovere, in the town of Halsteren in Netherlands. It was purposely designed this way so it wouldn’t stand out in the historic fort complex and has received numerous accolades and recognition for its innovative design.
The bridge is made primarily of Accoya wood that is treated with anti-fungal coating so it is resistant to water, decay, and insects.
