Eiger Trail runs along the north face (where the brand name North Face came from) of the Eiger mountain and is one of the most popular day hikes in the Swiss Alps.

The official Eiger Trail is a 6 km point-to-point trail that starts at Eigergletscher and ends in Alpiglen.

We extended the trail and started from Kleine Scheidegg instead. From there we hiked to Alpiglen and then continued on to Brandegg and finished the hike in Grindelwald.

We first took the scenic train to Kleine Scheidegg and started our hike from there.

Leaving Kleine Scheidegg train station.

Lots of cows.

Walking along the foot of the Eiger.

Soon we reached Lake Fallboden with perfect reflections of Eiger and its surroundings.

After leaving Lake Fallboden, we continued to hike uphill towards Eigergletscher.

The rest of the hike was going downhill and fairly easy.

A train was leaving the Alpiglen Station as we passed by.

Finally Grindelwald came into view.

We reached Grindelwald in a little less than five hours.
